THE SERPENT SEED

Q. Someone wrote to me saying that I do not tolerate other's interpretations of the Bible regarding what went on in the Garden of Eden verse 3:15.

My Response:

I, and many others subscribe to the "Serpent Seed" doctrine. I have heard people spiritualize this away, make up all sorts of "intrepertations" in order to find a meaning that they can live with. I have even heard that there is nothing in the Bible to support the Serpent Seed doctrine.

I am one that does not believe we should be studying our Bible, with our handy "commentary Bible" just chuck full of what "Bible Scholars" believe the Bible means.

The Bible clearly states in 2 Timothy 2:15 that we are to Study the Bible:

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
KJV

The Bible also tells us in Proverbs 25:2 that there are "things" concealed in the Bible and we are to get into the Bible and discover them:

Proverbs 25:2
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
KJV

With these instructions in mind, don't you think you should do the studying and not follow "Bible Scholars" off the cliff? There are so many chruches today that teach the "rapture" doctrine. Many main stream Bible students and, yes, Bible scholars believe in and teach the rapture as though it were Biblical. This just isn't so. I will not go into The Rapture here, I do have a link to some of my work on the rapture. The point is many scholars follow "Church Doctrine" which may and often does contain the teachings of men. This can lead you way off course.

To be a good Bible student, you need a King James Bible, a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, a very good Bible dictionary, I suggest two or three if you can afford them and if possible a copy of the "Companion Bible". These will give you the resources to get into the Bible at a much deeper level then one that simply reads a new translation of the Bible in modern english.

No not take anyone's word for what the Bible says, do not take my word for what the Bible says. Although I post verses and definitions, I could be wrong, deceived or at worst be trying to deceive you, the reader. The point is not to trust others with your Bible education without proving everything that you are told. Please double check my work. It is not all that hard.

Keep in mind that ALL books have errors. There are errors in the Companion Bible, it is an excellent reference book chuck full of fantastic information, but check it all out. Even the KJV Bible has translation errors in it, most are known and exposed in the Companion Bible. The Strong's Concordance contains both a Hebrew and Greek dictionary using a numbering system that you can trace words in the Bible back to their original language. Of course this is provided that the translation is done correctly.

Don't let this put you off, I find it most exciting to get into the books, look up words in the Bible, check them against the Strong's and the Companion Bible, you can get even more from a good Bible dictionary. When I get the true meaning of what God wanted me to understand from His Word, then, and only then, am I "searching out a matter." Stay away from books that are "New and Revised" and/or "Corrected", these are often simply changed to include much of today's church doctrine. In fact I try to acquire older, used books at least 30 years old. These are before much of the church doctrine started getting into our modern reference books.

Back to the subject of this page. I have pasted below all of the copies of the same verses that I could find from as many sources as I have access to. I have hilighted the point that tells us that the serpent (Satan) and Eve each had a seed. If you can see this, you will know the roots of the Serpent Seed. You can then apply this to much of the Bible and fully understand what is going on and who Jesus is talking to in the New Testament.

Don't believe me, follow what your Bible is saying. Do you really think Eve ate an apple? And this lead to a conception? DO YOU? Eve was pregnant before Adam "knew" her. It is written. This is not a point of interpretation, it is believing what is written. I have seen this descirbed in different ways in all the Bibles and it always means the same thing.

Targum of Onkelos and Jonathan Ben Uzzel (no verses given)

The Torah

The Bible - James Moffatt Translation
3:15 And I will set a feud between you and the woman, between your brood and hers: they strike at your head, and you shall strike at their heel.

Now I have taken time to locate and paste or type in this same verse from 11  different translations (one each for the Tanakh and the Torah). How many different ways must this be written before one understands that the serpent has an offspring? If you ask me, there is no room for intrepretations, it is simply written.

I like the way the Targum spells it out however:

And the woman beheld Sammael, the angel of death, and was afraid; yet she knew that the tree was good to eat, and that it was medicine for the enlightenment of the eyes, and a desirable tree by means of which to understand.

and

And Adam knew Hava his wife, who had desired the Angel; and she conceived, and bare Kain; and she said, I have acquired a man, the Angel of the Lord. And she added to bear from her husband Adam his twin, even Habel.

There is the seed of truth and there are seeds of apples!
